What is Express Yourself Week & When is it?
Students are doing a better job wearing their required dress code on a regular basis, so we are ready to bring back Express Yourself Week, a monthly tradition since the studio began.
Express Yourself Week will be the last 7 days of each month moving forward!
The First Express Yourself Week will be January 25 - 31
Students are encouraged to express themselves by wearing fun colors and dance wear styles they can’t wear the other weeks of the month. Express Yourself Week is special and can only remain a fun and special time if students wear their class dress code for the rest of the month.
What can my dancer wear?
What can students wear during Express Yourself Week?
Children’s Classes (Tippy Toes, Mini 1 & 2, Junior 1 & 2) : can wear any danceable clothing of any color, including dance costumes!
Tap and Specialty Classes (Hip Hop, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Contemporary): can wear any danceable clothing of any color, including dance costumes or baggy clothing.
Leveled Ballet, Jazz and Acro: can wear fitted dance clothing of any color or style. Tights are still required in ballet classes.
Proper dance footwear is still required for all classes
What should they not wear?
What is not allowed during Express Yourself Week?
Jeans and denim are not allowed
Bra tops/sports bras cannot be worn without a shirt/top
Tights are still required in ballet classes.
All clothing must still be danceable, and should not restrict movement.
